Through our work supporting parliamentary groups and policy initiatives, CalComms has helped bring together policymakers, industry experts and stakeholders to inform the development of government policy.
CalComms played a central role in establishing the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Restorative Justice, securing the support of 30 MPs and Peers to launch the initiative in Parliament. Acting as secretariat, we designed and delivered a Select Committee-style inquiry to examine the role of restorative justice across the criminal justice system.
To support the inquiry, CalComms coordinated engagement across government, the justice sector and industry stakeholders, while delivering a targeted communications strategy across trade press and social media to encourage participation and raise awareness.
The inquiry produced ten policy recommendations presented to ministers, nine of which were later fully or partially adopted across the following three years under both Conservative and Labour governments.
